Designed with intent
Restrained palettes, considered proportions, plants chosen for the way they age.
ANKS
Design and construction for architectural homes and luxury commercial spaces across Melbourne. Considered from the ground up, integrated with the architecture, built to age well.
Built on craft. Designed for life.
Restrained palettes, considered proportions, plants chosen for the way they age.
Landscape, construction and earthworks. One team, one line of accountability.
Bluestone, ironbark, weathering steel - materials chosen to wear in, not out.
What we do
Landscaping leads. Construction and earthworks make it possible.
The design language, materiality and planting. Architectural gardens that feel inevitable in their site.
Design + build
Pools, terraces, retaining and outdoor rooms. Built in service of the landscape, not bolted onto it.
Structure
Site preparation, levels, drainage and retaining. The craft beneath the surface that makes the surface work.
Site worksOur approach
Brief
We walk the site, read the architecture, and understand how you want to use the space, indoors and out.
Design
Materiality, levels and planting resolved on paper before anything is built. Restrained palettes, considered proportions.
Build
Landscape, construction and earthworks under one in-house team, so levels, drainage and structure resolve together.
Planting
Plants chosen for the way they age, set against the finished materials and lighting.
Establishment
Year-one care while the planting matures and the project settles into its site.
Yes. Many of our projects begin alongside an architect or designer already engaged on the project. We are comfortable coming in at concept stage to shape the landscape brief with them, or taking a resolved design through to documentation and build.
The earlier we are involved, the more the garden and the architecture can resolve as a single move rather than two that meet at the boundary.
Our residential work spans Melbourne's east and inner suburbs - Toorak, South Yarra, Armadale, Malvern, Hawthorn, Kew, Camberwell, North Balwyn and Brighton - and we take on luxury commercial projects across the wider metropolitan area. If your project sits outside that, get in touch and we will let you know.
Yes. Alongside our residential work, we take on luxury commercial landscaping - hospitality, boutique retail, corporate and premium developments - where the outdoor environment needs the same design intent as the building. Same in-house team, same finish quality.
All of it, in-house. Landscape design, construction (pools, retaining, terraces, pergolas) and earthworks (site preparation, drainage, levels) sit under one team.
That is deliberate. It means the disciplines align from day one rather than being subcontracted apart and stitched together at the end.
It depends on scope, site access and how much structural work sits beneath the surface. Levels, drainage, retaining and soil all need to be right before planting goes in, so a considered garden is rarely a quick job. We give you a realistic program at proposal stage, not an optimistic one.
Every site is different, so we do not publish a fixed price. After an initial site visit and brief we prepare a detailed proposal, and we are upfront about where the budget goes. If cost certainty matters to you, we build the proposal around it.
A garden is at its least settled on the day it is finished. We offer establishment care through the first year, the period that decides whether planting matures the way it was designed to. We will talk through what your garden needs to age well.
